AEROMETEO SERVICE is a highly specialized company which is a partner (PI) and subcontractor in EU projects. AEROMETEO SERVICE  cooperates with the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry, as a subcontractor under the 6TH framework programme of the EU.

We are a providers of highly specialized service for aircraft measurements and tower measurements in the regional experimental research programme.

 

1. As a partner in the IMECC project:

IMECC (Infrastructure for Measurements of the European Carbon Cycle) is an Integrated Infrastructure Initiative (I³) under the Sixth Framework Programme of the European Commission The IMECC project aims to build the infrastructure for a coordinated, calibrated and accessible dataset for characterizing the carbon balance of Europe

2. Aircraft measurements
The experiment is based on regular vertical profiles over Europe which were set up in 2001 as part of the EU projects at five locations among which Bialystok is one of the measurement stations (53°31’N, 22° 75’E, Poland). The objective of the programme is to measure CO2, CH4, N2O, SF6, CO, 13C and 18O in CO2 vertical profiles at weekly intervals using air samples taken up at several levels from 100m to 2500 m above ground level. One litre flasks are sampled on board small aircraft using a standardized protocol. The samples are analysed at laboratories (MPI-BGC), which are linked through regular inter-comparison exercises. The results observed  are compared to the output of atmospheric models. For more information please contact our office directly:

3. Tower measurements

The experiment is based on regular 24-hours high precession air monitoring of trace gases: CO2, CH4, CO, N2O, SF6 concentrations and O2/N2 ratio, as well as meteorological parameters monitoring, which were set up in 2004 as part of the EU project.
